Lera proudly debuted its first collaboration with Bungalow, New York — the visionary restaurant by Michelin Star Chef Vikas Khanna. For this project, we created a bespoke handcrafted check presenter, inspired by India’s rich traditions yet designed exclusively for Bungalow’s refined dining experience.
The piece was conceptualized and crafted with great detail, ensuring it wasn’t just functional, but also a symbol of artistry and storytelling. This collaboration reflects exactly what Lera stands for — timeless craftsmanship reimagined for modern luxury spaces.
Our Journey with Chef Vikas Khanna
Some stories begin with a spark of destiny. Ours began on June 6, 2025.
After months of reaching out, a simple post about Grandma’s cooking — a heartfelt tribute to tradition — caught the attention of Michelin Star Chef Vikas Khanna. To our surprise, he replied. Not only that, he shared his vision: a handcrafted paan daan for his restaurant, Bungalow, New York.
We began exchanging ideas, sketches, and possibilities. What started as a conversation quickly transformed into a collaboration built on trust, heritage, and artistry.
We crafted a sample paan daan box, designed to honor tradition yet tailored to Bungalow’s refined dining experience. Chef’s first reaction?
“This is amazing. BEAUTY!”
Over next couple months, skilled artisans in India poured their soul into crafting 50 bespoke boxes. Every curve and detail became a vessel of memory — the scent of cardamom and clove, the laughter of elders, the quiet rituals of sharing.
There were moments of pure magic when Chef would respond with words that touched our hearts:
“These boxes will help guests live through their childhood.”
Finally, on September 6, 2025, the boxes arrived at Bungalow, New York. With them, we delivered not just a product, we delivered passion, creativity, and tradition crafted together into an unforgettable first collaboration.
